RALEIGH, N.C. — Civic Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the appointments of Danielle Abbott as Chief Operations Officer and Chris Madsen as Chief Lending Officer, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and continued growth in serving North Carolina’s local government employees, volunteers and their families.

Danielle and Chris bring decades of leadership experience and a deep commitment to serving our members,” said Civic CEO Dave D’Annunzio. “Their expertise will help us continue modernizing our operations, expanding lending opportunities, and delivering the exceptional member experience that defines Civic.”

About Danielle Abbott

As Chief Operations Officer, Abbott oversees operational strategy, technology, business transformation, and member service operations. She brings more than 13 years of experience within the credit union movement. 

Throughout her career, Abbott has held leadership roles spanning membership development, marketing, technology, data, project management, and member services, giving her a comprehensive understanding of how to align people, processes, and technology to improve organizational performance and the member experience. 

Abbott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from North Carolina State University.

About Chris Madsen

As Chief Lending Officer, Madsen leads Civic’s consumer and business lending strategy, overseeing the development and delivery of lending products that support members throughout every stage of their financial journey. 

Madsen brings more than 35 years of banking and financial services experience. Since joining Civic, he has led the implementation of core lending systems, established centralized underwriting, and developed strategies to strengthen the credit union’s lending portfolio through product innovation, pricing, and market analysis while maintaining safe and sound underwriting practices. 

Madsen is a graduate of East Carolina University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
