Here are a few FAQs

Will my account number, direct deposit, or automatic payments change when I switch accounts?

No. Your existing account number will remain the same, so all direct deposits and automatic payments to and from your account will continue to occur.

Will I have to change my debit card or ATM card? What about my online banking and online bill pay information?

No. Your debit card and ATM card numbers will remain the same for your account, as will your online banking and online bill pay information. You can continue to bank with us online at civicfcu.org.

When are my Signature+ Checking benefits available?

If your account is moving to a Signature+ Checking Account, your account change and benefits, including insurance, are effective July 14, 2026. You will not be charged until July 31, 2026 so you can enjoy the new features at no cost until that date. If you have an email on file with us, you’ll receive a welcome email at that time with instructions on how to access your benefits via digital banking.

I received communication my account is changing. Can I choose a different account?

Yes! You will have the opportunity to opt for an Essential Checking Account before your account transitions. After your account transitions, our Experience Center will be able to help you switch your account. We'll keep you updated on when you can self-select your account. 

1 Enrollment in Signature+ Checking qualifies the member for full program benefits. Savings are dependent on member utilization of benefits. Predicted savings are subject to change. Certain benefit options must be paid from the Signature+ Checking to be covered. Account will incur a monthly fee and will be deducted from the account at the end of the month. Account qualifies member for our best dividend rate on Signature+ checking balances. $1 of the $6 per month fee is donated to the Civic Foundation.

2 Insurance products are not a deposit, not federally insured, not an obligation or guaranteed by the credit union, its affiliates, or any government agency. Cell phone protection and personal identity protection are subject to additional terms and conditions detailed in the Guide to Benefits. Identity and credit monitoring with credit report and score requires additional activation.

3 Any vehicle with wheels is covered under the program if it is classified as ‘Light Duty.’ ‘Light Duty’ vehicles are vehicles that weigh 10,000 lbs. or less. Vehicles weighing more than 10,000 lbs. are considered ‘Medium Duty’ or ‘Heavy Duty’ and are NOT covered under this program. Service providers supplying emergency roadside assistance and towing are independent contractors and are solely liable for their services. Civic Federal Credit Union shall not have any responsibility or liability in connection with the rendering of the service. Emergency roadside assistance and towing may not be available in areas not regularly traveled, nor in other “off road” areas not accessible by ordinary towing vehicles. Weather conditions, time of day, and availability of service may affect assistance responses. Expectations for dispatch are set with the customer on every call, and an expected estimated time of arrival is provided to the customer regardless of their location; however, neither Visa nor your financial institution provides any assurances as to the ability of the service provider to meet such estimates. You are responsible for any roadside assistance or towing charges incurred by facilities responding to your request even if you are not with your vehicle or your vehicle is gone upon their arrival. Subject to the terms and conditions detailed in the Guide to Benefits.

7 Subject to approval; for dealer purchase only. To be eligible for this discount, members must be enrolled in Direct Deposit and Signature+ Checking. Account in good standing is eligible for an interest rate applied to new, used and refinanced autos.

8 Civic participates in select surcharge-free ATM networks. See the current list of locations. Other ATM networks may charge an ATM fee that Civic will reimburse, up to a total of $20 per month per debit/ATM card beginning on the first day of the month and ending on the last day. If you are eligible for an ATM fee reimbursement, funds are typically released by Civic to your account within two business days, but timing may vary.

10 Courtesy Pay is available to members in good standing with active direct deposit, an eligible Civic checking account, and at least 90 days of membership. To be in good standing you must not have any bankruptcies or charge-offs of Civic loans or deposit accounts within the past three years, and all accounts must be current. We may pay overdrafts through the Courtesy Pay program at our discretion if you do not have enough money available in your account to cover a transaction. We will charge a $25 fee each time an overdraft occurs. Please refer to the Membership and Account Agreement for a more through explanation of factors that determine when an overdraft occurs, coverage limits, and when you may incur a fee for overdrawing your account. Refer to the Fee Schedule for other fees that may apply or visit civicfcu.org/fees. Courtesy Pay may be added to one account per member. Civic account holders who are 18 years of age or older with consumer checking accounts are eligible.

11 Early access to direct deposit funds depends on the timing of the payer’s submission of deposits. We generally post such deposits on the day they are received, which may be up to three days earlier than the payer’s scheduled payment date.
