Becoming a Friend of the Foundation is a meaningful way to support programs that strengthen communities across North Carolina. Friends may also become eligible to apply for Civic Credit Union membership, connecting you to a credit union that provides exceptional financial services while reinvesting in the people, programs, and public servants who keep our state moving forward.

Membership that creates lasting impact for you and other North Carolinians

Joining Friends of the Civic Foundation means you’re supporting the people and organizations making positive changes within NC communities. Plus, you can apply to join Civic Credit Union, even if you don’t have a direct role in local government. Civic is the credit union that helps build communities across the state while serving the financial needs of members. If you are not a Civic member, you may apply to join the credit union with a one-time $25 membership deposit. Then an annual tax-deductible donation of $15 makes you a Friend of the Foundation.

It’s easy to become a Friend of the Foundation and help support communities across the state. Visit the Friend of the Foundation membership page, enter your information, and pay the annual $15 membership fee using a credit or debit card. That’s it!

Can I use Civic Credit Union financial products if I’m a Friend of the Foundation?

Civic Credit Union membership is required to access Civic financial products. If you’re not already a member of the credit union, you can learn more and become a member here.

How is my annual Friend of the Foundation membership fee used?

Your Friend of the Foundation membership fee helps us fund grant programs focused on health care, housing, hunger, and human services across our great state, award scholarships to Civic Credit Union members, and initiate statewide programs that advance the Civic Foundation's mission.

Do I need to maintain my Friend of the Foundation membership to remain a Civic Credit Union member?

No, your membership as a Friend of the Foundation is independent of your credit union membership. Once you join Civic Credit Union, you’re a member for life.
