Civic has been named a finalist in the Credit Union Times Luminaries Awards, Class of 2025, in the newly formed Excellence in Marketing category.
The Civic "Without Them" campaign entry showcases various members of local government such as water quality technicians, sanitation workers, and animal control officers — essential workers who are the behind-the-scenes framers of our communities, those who quietly and consistently contribute to our everyday life.
The campaign
The "Without Them" campaign applauds the essential work of local government employees who are the credit union’s core members. Through humorous video storytelling, the campaign highlights the hard work Civic members do every day, from making sure our water is clean to picking up the trash.
"This campaign is about people; it reflects Civic’s belief that supporting public servants is the right thing to do," said Lamar Heyward, Civic Credit Union Chief Marketing Officer. "Civic tells a story of the everyday heroes who make everything work, so we can look around, take notice, and appreciate the people who keep our communities going strong."
The impact
Civic set out not only to generate broader public awareness around the vital role of local government workers, but also to strengthen its mission-driven brand identity and reinforce member value by demonstrating genuine appreciation for those the credit union serves.
