Board of Directors nominations announcement

Each year we announce the candidates for our Board of Directors. Members can vote for these candidates at the Annual Meeting of Civic Federal Credit Union on Friday, March 20, 2026.

The Nominating Committee has selected the following individuals for nomination to the Board of Directors, all of whom are Certified Credit Union Board Members (CCUB):

Ruth Barnes (Board Term 2026-2029)

Barnes began her service to the credit union as a member of the Supervisory Committee and was first elected to the Board in 1990. She also serves as Chair of the Civic Foundation Board. She retired from the North Carolina ABC Board as Finance Director and is a licensed real estate broker.

Jeanne Erwin (Board Term 2026-2029)

Erwin began serving on the Supervisory Committee in 1994, before being nominated to the Board in 2008. As a Certified Public Accountant, she served as fiscal manager and auditor for the Office of the State Auditor. Her local government service includes leadership roles in the cities of Raleigh and Chapel Hill, and in Durham Public Schools.

Ken Noland (Board Term 2026-2029)

Noland began his credit union service as a member of the Northern Mountain Advisory Council in 2007 and was elected to the Board in 2014. His North Carolina local government career includes more than 30 years of service, and he has held the role of Wilkesboro Town Manager since 1999.

Nomination guidelines

  • Nominations must be accompanied by a signed certificate from the nominee stating an agreement to be nominated and to serve if elected.
  • Nominations for vacancies on the Board of Directors may be made by petition signed by 1% of the members with a minimum of 300 and a maximum of 500. As of the September 30, 2025 Call Report, the credit union has 366, 134 members, so 500 member signatures are required.
  • The credit union will not conduct the election by ballot and there will be no nominations from the floor when the number of nominees equals the number of positions to be filled. Each nominee by petition must submit a similar statement of qualifications and biographical data with the petition.

  • Nominations by petition must be filed with the Secretary of Civic Federal Credit Union by February 8, 2026. The Secretary will ensure that nominations by petition, along with those of the Nominating Committee, are posted in a conspicuous place in each Civic Federal Credit Union office prior to February 13, 2026.
