Are there really no ATM fees?

Yes, that's right! Here's how it works: Anytime you get charged an ATM fee, we'll reimburse your account, up to $20 each month. Give us about two days, and you'll see the fee reimbursement show up in your account.

Is there an account minimum?

Yes, the same $25 you deposit when you open your new Select Savings Account is also the minimum amount required to maintain your account.

Can I have more than one debit card?

Each account owner gets their own debit card. That way, each person has the flexibility to use Civic the way they like. Want your card to go further? Link it to a digital wallet like Apple Pay®, Samsung Pay®, or Google Pay®.

How can I access my savings?

If you have have a Civic savings account but not a Civic checking account, you can request an ATM card that allows you access to your funds. Contact the Experience Center to request an ATM card, at 844-772-4842.

The easiest way to access your savings and move your money is through the Civic app! You can use Zelle,® make external transfers from your Select Savings Account, and more.

How do I set up direct deposit?

Getting started with direct deposit can be as easy as providing your account number and the Civic routing number (253184537).

Many employers and government entities that provide direct deposit payments will have their own paperwork, so it is vital to check with them first. If there is no set form required by the paying entity and the requirement is only to submit your request in writing, then simply download and complete the Civic Direct Deposit Authorization Form.

Are there overdraft fees?

Right from the start, we encourage you to designate one or more of your accounts as overdraft options. That way, if a charge cannot be covered – and there’s money available in a designated account - we’ll move what’s needed to cover the charge. This important overdraft protection step prevents an overdraft situation and eliminates any insufficient funds fees. So, when you select overdraft protection options, you can use a savings, money market, credit card, personal line of credit or another checking account. And you can combine options together

How does overdraft work?

If a charge comes through your account and your balance cannot support the charge, we can transfer exactly the amount that’s needed to cover the charge from your designated overdraft account. To set up this service, contact the Experience Center.

Does this account include checks?

Yes! We’ve got options when you want to go old-school. Your first box of standard Civic checks are complimentary. If you need checks, just let us know. We will get them ordered and sent to your address on file.

Do you charge an insufficient funds fee or NSF?

Yes. If there are no funds of any kind available, we will have to reject the transaction and charge your account a $25 fee. To avoid this, enroll your account in overdraft protection [*see the third and fourth question].

Official rules: Civic Credit Union $10,000 Debit Card Winter Sweepstakes

Entry in the Debit Card Sweepstakes is offered to eligible members (see ELIGIBILITY section below) 21 years of age or older, but void where prohibited or restricted by law. All applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. All materials submitted will become the sole property of Civic and will not be returned. Return of any prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification, and an alternate winner may be selected. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for Civic to use the winner’s name and likeness for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. Civic reserves the right to use any and all information related to the Sweepstakes, for marketing or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.

HOW TO ENTER: Sweepstakes begins December 15, 2025, and ends January 31, 2026 (the "Sweepstakes Period"). If you are an eligible Civic Credit Union member who uses his/her Civic debit card for a transaction equal to or more than $25 at any fixed (permanent physical location) or online retail store during the Sweepstakes Period, your name will be automatically entered once for each qualifying transaction for a chance to win. Retail stores will be defined using VisaVue Merchant Category Codes. Examples of eligible retail stores include Wal-Mart®, Target®, Lowe’s®, Best Buy®, Family Dollar®, PetSmart®, etc.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN: You may also submit your entry in writing to “2026 Debit Card Sweepstakes”, 3600 Wake Forest Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609.

ELIGIBILITY: Sweepstakes open to individuals who are members of Civic in good standing, that use their debit cards for a transaction equal to or more than $25 at any fixed or online retail store during the Sweepstakes Period. Eligible persons must be legal residents of, and residing in, the state of North Carolina and be at least 21 years of age at the time of each eligible transaction. Directors, full-time, part-time and contracted temporary employees of Civic and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each, as well as any persons involved in the design, administration or implementation of this Sweepstakes, are not eligible to participate or to win. Civic, through its CEO, retains the sole discretion to determine any issue of eligibility, and the CEO’s decision will be final.

RANDOM DRAWING AND PRIZE: One grand prize winner will be awarded $10,000 deposited into their Bonus Checking account. The grand prize winner will be selected by random drawing from all eligible transaction entries after the conclusion of the Sweepstakes Period and notified no later than February 6, 2026.

Entrants need not be present at the time of drawing to be eligible to win. Winner will be notified within five (5) business days the drawing either by phone, email or U.S. mail, based on contact information provided by the member to Civic. Winner will be required to provide notice accepting the prize, either verbally or in writing, within five (5) business days following notification as a condition of receiving the prize. Failure to respond in accordance with these stipulations, or otherwise accept the prize, may result in forfeiture of the prize and an alternate winner may be selected via random drawing.

Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed or substituted for another prize, and Civic shall have the right to determine method and form of prize delivery. Civic’s decisions concerning all matters related to the Sweepstakes shall be final. Winner acknowledges that the prize is taxable. Civic is not responsible for payment of any of the tax consequences related to the awarding of any prize as part of the Sweepstakes. Winner will receive an IRS 1099 tax form and may wish to seek advice from an independent tax advisor.

By accepting a prize, winner agrees to hold harmless and to indemnify Civic and their directors, agents, employees and assigns with regard to all claims, liabilities, and legal expenses related to any dispute that arises from a designated winner's participation, use or alleged misuse of the prize or acceptance of the prize. Civic is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of this offer, administration of this promotion, or the announcement of the prize. Civic reserves the right to suspend or terminate the Sweepstakes in the event the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes is jeopardized. This promotion shall be interpreted and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any and all claims, causes of action, or controversies arising out of or related to this Agreement (whether in contract, tort or otherwise) shall be governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without giving effect to any conflict of law principles. All disputes arising out of or related to this Agreement shall be brought and heard in Wake County, North Carolina.

The Sweepstakes is not sponsored by, endorsed by, or administered by any of the eligible retail stores where transactions occur.
