Letter from our Board Chair
Aaron Noble
Dear Members,
2025 was a historic time in the life of your credit union. For 43 years, we have proudly served as the only credit union dedicated to the North Carolina local government community, and we’re grateful for the work our members do to better our towns, cities, and state.
Our official transition to Civic from Local Government Federal Credit Union in 2025 represents a continuation of our commitment to you, while transitioning our independence as a modern financial institution.
On behalf of the Civic Board of Directors, I share this 2025 Annual Report with our pledge to work in the best interest of members each day, and to carry the strength of our 43-year history into the future.
Focused on the Civic values of People first, Planet always, and Prosperity for all, we’re also pleased to share that in 2025, Civic was proud to:
- Introduce new products and competitive rates to help you save and borrow, including Jumbo Choice Certificates, IRA Choice Certificates, and FHA and VA mortgages
- Add more digital options to save you time, and ways to manage cash at retail locations
- Expand our member service teams, to provide 24/7 service
- Invest in education through student and professional development scholarships and provide community grants
- Build on our partnerships with local government associations and others who share our commitment to thriving communities
- Use solar energy, rechargeable vehicle stations, and composting initiatives to benefit our planet
The bottom line? With our transition from LGFCU to Civic only our name has changed. We’re the same credit union you’ve always known, only better. We’re dedicated to meeting your needs, and helping you and your family achieve your best financial lives. Thank you for being a member.
Best regards,
Dr. Aaron Noble
