A letter from our CEO David D’Annunzio 

When I accepted the opportunity to serve as CEO of Civic, it was for one clear reason: purpose. 

Civic exists to serve North Carolina’s local government employees, the people who keep our communities running every day. That focus remains constant. While many financial institutions broaden their reach, we remain committed to serving those who serve our state. 

From my first days here, I have been inspired by the strength of a dedicated team, strong digital capabilities, and a culture grounded in professionalism and care. We are clear in our mission and positioned to evolve. 

As the financial services industry continues to shift, we have modernized systems, refined processes, and strengthened our foundation to keep pace. These investments position us for long-term success and enable us to serve members wherever they are — through modern mobile and online banking, through personal service in our branches, and through thoughtful solutions designed around real-life needs. 

In 2025, we advanced key priorities, expanding access to Credit Builder Loans to help members improve their credit scores, growing partnerships with merchants and the CO-OP Shared Branch network to provide local access, and adding digital tools like Zelle® and Card Control+ for greater convenience and control. These investments reflect our continued focus on making saving, borrowing, and planning for the future simpler and more accessible. 

Looking ahead, we will continue to strengthen our product offerings, invest in technology that makes managing finances easier and more convenient, and will modernize how we serve — without losing sight of why we serve. 

I am confident in our future because of our people and our purpose. We have an experienced, passionate team and a clear strategic direction. Most importantly, we have members who place their trust in us every day.
