Advisory Council Spotlight: Anthony Martin

We are honored to shine the spotlight on Anthony Martin of Marble, North Carolina.

Anthony has been a valued part of the Civic family since November 1996, serving on the Murphy Advisory Council region since March 2024. He loves the fact that he represents the local membership and notes, “No one knows a community better than someone who lives in it, nobody [else] understands your diversity, demographics and challenges. Nobody knows the culture better than our community members.” In fact, Anthony proudly wears his Advisory Council nametag when he’s out and about. “I’m always looking to shake a hand, share a smile, whatever it takes,” he says.

Because of his dedication to the credit union and the Advisory Council, Anthony was recognized as Civic’s 2025 Advisory Council Member of the Year. A big part of Anthony’s life centers around volunteerism. As he says, “If you’ve got it in your heart to give, why not share it with someone else?” Anthony appreciates how his membership on the Advisory Council gives him a voice to help strengthen and represent his community, to be an advocate for the leadership from Raleigh to the mountains.
